Automatic centering using CCD camera

Automatic centering using CCD camera (Grinding Center GCV-30/40)

By incorporating the camera system, it becomes possible to perform precise positioning tasks such as aligning small steps or workpiece shapes that cannot be touched with a probe. as we as locating features such as printing or engraving on the workpiece. It is also possible to measure the diameter and pitch distance of continuous small diameter holes.
The camera unit is equipped with shutter and air purge to prevent coolant from entering.

CCD camera is installed next to the spindle

Move the spindle to get closer to the workpiece and take picture

  • Reference case 1   Circular workpiece: measuring small steps of 20 μm

Three points on the circumference are photographed with a camera, and the positions are determined by analyzing the images using dedicated software on a separate computer, and the center position of the workpiece is automatically calculated.
